Families Under Pressure
King鈥檚 College London and the NHS have developed a website called ‘Families Under Pressure’, in conjunction with parents, to offer parenting tips during this stressful time (Covid-19 lockdown).
The website contains advice and support through animations on the following tips:
- Keeping positive and motivated
- Making sure everyone knows what is expected of them
- Building your child鈥檚 self confidence and trust in you
- Getting your child to follow instructions
- Promoting good behaviour
- How to limit conflict
- Keeping calm when your kids act up
- Using sanctions carefully
During this stressful and cooped-up time, don鈥檛 let the pressure of parenting get you down. Try these simple tricks and tips, formulated by Professor Edmund Sonuga-Barke and the POP-UP team, which are backed by science and proven to work with families.
