Proud to Partner with the Early Careers Foundation

At Sixth Form, we are proud to be one of an exclusive number of Sixth Form’s in the North West who partner with the Early Careers Foundation, a leading social mobility charity dedicated to helping young people from low-income backgrounds unlock their potential.

Through this partnership, all Year 12 students have the opportunity to apply for a place on their nationally recognised Mentoring Programme.

What is the Mentoring Programme?

The programme offers students a two-year journey of personal and professional development, supported by a dedicated mentor from the world of work. Mentoring takes place virtually once a month and is designed to complement students’ academic studies and career planning.

Year 12 – Self-Discovery and Confidence Building

Students begin by exploring their strengths, interests, and ambitions. With guidance from their mentor and access to the Foundation’s Future Hub app, they work on:

  • Building confidence
  • Identifying career goals
  • Developing communication and relationship skills

Year 13 – Career Readiness Coaching

In the second year, students are matched with mentors aligned to their career interests. Together, they focus on:

  • Writing CVs and personal statements
  • Preparing for interviews
  • Creating LinkedIn profiles
  • Exploring work experience opportunities

Why It Matters

This programme is a fantastic opportunity for students to gain real-world insights, build professional networks, and prepare for life after Sixth Form – whether that’s university, an apprenticeship, or employment.

Our Commitment

We actively encourage students to apply and support them throughout the process. From helping with applications to celebrating their progress, we’re with them every step of the way.
