CyberFirst Trip to Media City ( Published: 25/11/2024)

A group of Year 9 students with an interest in Computer Science visited Media City to take part in a range of exciting cyber activities.

The students were given a tour of HOST, Salford鈥檚 . They spent time in the custom-built gaming arena, green screen room and virtual reality centre. Then, they also took part in cyber workshops including spending time as a digital detective, before having a chance to sample their high-powered gaming machines.

The event was led by Whalley Range alumnae Hana, who inspired the students with the story of her journey to working in the digital industry. The trip was part of our partnership with the IN4.0 group linked to our accreditation as a CyberFirst school.

What a great day for our Year 9 pupils! Hopefully days like today will encourage students to consider careers in cyber and having an inspirational former student of Whalley Range leading the day was wonderful.
